'One proud coach' Natalie Scott praises her side after gutsy round 1 win

Monday 04 April 2022

Natalie Scott provides her first thoughts on our Round 1 win against Oak Park in the Airport Division 2 Women's.

"We kicked off our premiership campaign on Saturday with plenty of first time players to competitive football, however that didn't show.

With a gutsy first quarter, we were down at the first break after only scoring one goal. - A brilliant play by Kate Sellers, under pressure hand balling to Julia Montesano to sneak one through for her first goal for the club.

The second quarter had us heading to the scoring end, piling on a few goals from Kate Sellers, Shelby Best and first gamer Stephanie Maiorana.

Our backline was under pressure but held strong through-out the game. Courtney Buchanan who was our game day captain stood up when counted, playing the best game of football we have ever seen her play.

I could name everyone. - I'm one very proud coach after the weekend, everyone doing the 1 percenters.

Thank you to the under 18 girls who played two tough games of footy. - a vital part of our win and hopefully will be regulars through out the senior women's program.

Plenty to work on still, but a great first hit out. Go Tiges!"
