Debutant Justin du Toit made an immediate impact, kicking two goals and featuring among the best players, alongside Evans, Spencer, and Portelli.
Markus Welsh had the following to say after their round four win. - “Our senior team bounced back with a gritty performance against Rupertswood. The first half was scrappy, but we managed to take control and head into the main break with a 7-goal lead. Rupertswood came out firing in the third quarter, piling on 7 unanswered goals to flip the game on its head and take a 1-goal lead into the final term.
But our group showed real character when it mattered most. We regrouped and delivered a dominant final quarter, slamming home 5 goals while keeping Rupertswood scoreless to run out 21-point winners. A great four-quarter effort to get our season back on track at 2-2.”
In the Reserves, our boys delivered a dominant display, with Brodie Camilleri starring up forward with a six-goal haul in a big win.
Unfortunately, our Thirds couldn’t get over the line on Friday night but showed plenty of fight. James Khouri and Noah Lucin were named in the best, each contributing two goals.
