A PASSING OF THE BATON: 1984 → 2026
At our 2026 Presentation Night, we took the opportunity to honour an important part of Westmeadows Football Club history and connect two very special generations of our club. Each table was named after a member of our 1984 Premiership Team, recognising those who came before us, the legacy they left behind and the history our newest premiership players are now proud to be part of.
For 42 years, the 1984 Premiership held a special place in Westmeadows history. In 2026, another chapter was written, with both our Senior Men and Senior Women crowned premiers.
The connection between the two eras was made even more meaningful by a message from 1984 Premiership Coach Robert Clark, who congratulated our 2026 teams and officially handed the baton to the next generation.

Ash, congratulations to you and your coaching staff on winning the 2026 Premiership. This achievement is thoroughly deserved after three years of hard work, dedication and commitment from you, your coaches and your players. What an incredible reward for all your efforts. To JP, Cappy and all the players, what a magnificent achievement. WELL DONE, BOYS!
To Willy and your hardworking committee, congratulations on a fantastic season. Your dedication, commitment and countless hours behind the scenes have certainly paid off. It is wonderful to see all that hard work rewarded with such a great result.
Also, a huge congratulations to Gemma and the Westy Women’s program on winning the 2026 Premiership. What a fantastic achievement. WELL DONE, LADIES!
And finally, to all the supporters of this great club, congratulations to you all. Seeing so many happy faces and so much pride on this wonderful day was something very special. You have all played your part in making this a season to remember.
The ’84 team is incredibly proud of you all and couldn’t be happier to hand over the baton. You have done the club proud.

Presentation Night provided a fitting opportunity to bring these two eras together. Different teams. Different eras. Same club. The 1984 team created a legacy that has remained part of Westmeadows for more than four decades. Now, the premiership teams of 2026 have added their own chapter to that history.
