SENIOR MEN'S PROGRAM

ABOUT OUR MEN'S PROGRAM

Our Senior Men’s program proudly competes in Division Two of the Essendon District Football League, driven by high standards, accountability and a genuine team first mentality. The group is committed to disciplined, competitive football while fostering an inclusive and professional high performance environment.

Led by Senior Coach Ash Flavel and Co Captains Ryan Capron and Jarrod Petersen, the program places strong emphasis on preparation, consistency and sustained development. A Grand Final appearance in 2025 highlighted the growth, resilience and competitive edge of the playing group and coaching staff.

The 2025 season marked a statement year for the program, delivering significant individual and league recognition across Division Two. Aaron Evans was awarded the Division Two Best and Fairest following an exceptional campaign. At representative level, Ash Flavel was appointed Coach of the Division Two Team of the Year, while Ryan Capron was named Captain. Aaron Evans and Jordan Kosteas were also selected in the side, reinforcing the depth, quality and standards within the group.

Backed by clear junior pathways, dedicated coaches, committed volunteers and strong supporter engagement, the Senior Men’s program continues to build momentum and position the club for sustained long term success.

Supporting the senior program is a strong development structure across the club’s men’s teams. Reserve Men’s Coach Colin Stenhouse, Thirds Coach Matthew Walker and Under 18.5 Coach Chris Johnston play an important role in developing players and preparing them for senior football. Their programs focus on building skills, understanding the club’s standards and creating clear pathways for players progressing through the ranks.

AARON EVANS
DIVISION 2

EDFL BEST & FAIREST

We are incredibly proud to recognise Aaron Evans as the Community Bank Strathmore Division Two Best and Fairest. Aaron produced an outstanding season, averaging 28 disposals per game and kicking 51 goals. His consistency, work rate and ability to impact the contest were pivotal in our push to the Grand Final. To see a home grown Tiger achieve league recognition is a special moment for our club. A thoroughly deserved honour for Aaron and a proud achievement for Westmeadows.
