This season has had its challenges, but overall it's been good.
The juniors have been progressing well with our 3 x Under 8's, Under 10's, Under 12's, Under 14's and Under 16's. Congratulations to Jeremy Hearne and everyone involved.
The numbers in Auskick are up to 100 again this year. Well done to Liana Keenan and everyone helping out.
The Under 18's are developing well under Chris Johnston, with the four senior sides all positioned well to play finals.
Having the canteen and bar operating out of containers has been difficult for Gail and Nat, but they have made the best of it.
The ground is ordinary at the moment, and we have had to move one of our home games as rain runoff found its way onto the ground from the top car park. The council is in the process of fixing the issue. We are monitoring the ground and, at this stage, we are moving this week's game against Hadfield to Hume Bombers Ground in Kalkallo, who have been great hosts. This is the only ground in Hume available to us, and it is in good condition.
The old clubrooms have been demolished. The finish date for the new clubrooms is January 2027. The support for the $1,000 Refurbish Board (which will hang on the footy wall in the new rooms) has been good. We have raised $15,000 for new fridges, tables, TVs, etc. We estimate that we need about $40,000 to get the rooms to what we would like.
I'm around the club every Tuesday and Thursday and will be at Hume Bombers Ground on Saturday. If you have any questions, come and have a chat to me.
Thanks,
Wilba Kosteas
President
