PREMIERSHIP COACH ASH FLAVEL TO LEAD THE WAY IN 2027
Westmeadows Football Club is thrilled to announce that Ash Flavel will continue as Senior Men's Head Coach for the 2027 season, following a historic year for our senior men's program.
After guiding our Senior Men to the 2026 EDFL Division Two Premiership, our premiership coach will once again lead the group as we prepare for the challenge of Division One football.
The 2026 season will forever hold a special place in our club's history, with the long-awaited premiership a reflection of the hard work, commitment and belief shown by the entire playing group and coaching staff.
Throughout the season, his ability to connect with players, establish high standards and bring the group together played an important role in achieving that success. More than just the results on the field, the strong relationships and culture developed within our senior men's program have laid a solid foundation for the years ahead.
Joining Ash once again in 2027 will be Markus Welsh, who returns as Senior Men's Assistant Coach. A highly respected member of our coaching group, he has played an important role in the development of our playing group and the success achieved this season.
His commitment, strong relationships with the players and passion for the club have made him a valued part of our senior men's program. His contribution to our premiership was significant, and we're delighted to have him continuing alongside Ash.
Having guided our Senior Men to their first premiership in 42 years, Ash and Markus have earned their place in our club's history as premiership coaches. Their efforts in ending such a long drought and contributing to an unforgettable year of success across our senior football programs are something we will always be grateful for.
As our Senior Men prepare for the step up into Division One, we're excited to have both coaches continuing to lead the group, building on the strong foundations established throughout 2026.
With a new challenge ahead, we look forward to welcoming both returning and new players as we continue to grow and strengthen our senior men's program.
All the best, Ash and Markus. We can't wait to see what you and the boys can achieve in 2027!
